Description Eight reasons are enumerated by Corbett, its author and amateur printer. The hand-press used has not been positively identified, but would seem to have been one brought to Fort Garry for missionary purposes. In 1875 this "first imprint" in the Red River Settlement was entombed with a miscellany of documents and other artifacts in the cornerstone of Winnipeg's city hall. When it was demolished the broadside was given into the custody of the Winnipeg City Clerk's office. For variant versions of this bibliographic tale <i>see </i>Peel's introduction to the Bibliographical Society of Canada's reprint of Peel <xref>479</xref> (pages 6-7) and Peel's <i>Early printing in the Red River Settlement, 1859-1870 </i>(pages [v], 1-3). Facsimile of broadside is included in both those sources.
