Description Preface dated 1865. Though published as a joint work, it appears to have been written by Cheadle and based upon his journal. Their description of the opportunities offered by the prairies and British Columbia helped prepare public opinion for a federation including the West. Book was reviewed at length in <i>Mission Life </i>on October 1, 1866, by the editor of <i>Mission Life </i>, under the title "A year's journey through the diocese of Rupert's Land: Being a review by the editor of the <i>North-West Passage over-land </i>."
