Description The first of the flood of pamphlets written to advertise the agricultural possibilities of the West. Spence may be regarded as the progenitor of prairie immigration literature. Includes advertising. Also published, 2nd edition, rev. and enl., Ottawa: Free Press Printing Establishment, 1874 (39p.); 3rd English edition, Quebec: S. Marcotte, 1876 (36p.). The primary difference in the title of some later editions is the substitution of Manitoba for Red River near the end. For French version <i>see </i>Peel <xref>716</xref>.
