This bébé belonged to Helen McLeod who was born in Dundas, Ontario, in the 1880s. She moved to Vancouver in 1915 and lived here until she died in 1980.
<div class="field-item field-item-0">a) Doll - head marked: "Frg (abbreviation for figure) A 4"; original blonde mohair wig, tied with blue braid at back; painted eyebrows and lashes; stationary blue glass eyes; closed mouth with pronounced cupid's bow; pierced ears with turquoise glass bead earrings; jointed, composition body marked: "Le Petit Parisien/Bebe Steiner"; b) dress - pale sea green satin trimmed with dark blue velvet and white bobbin lace; long sleeves, shoulder knots; v-neck with white chemise; skirt has attached petticoat; c) slip - starched white muslin with attached petticoat from hips; both trimmed with bobbin lace; d) hat - natural plaited straw braid; elliptical brim turned up at front; brim lined in sky blue satin; crown decorated with ribbon, lace and artificial flowers; e-f) socks - white cotton stockinette with bordered tops; a) 29 cm long; b) 17 cm long; c) 16 cm long; d) 12 cm long; e-f) each 7 cm long.</div><div class="field-item field-item-1">a) doll; b) dress; c) slip; d) hat; e-f) socks</div>
