ORIGINAL PATENT PAPERS FOR INVENTION CREATED BY DONOR'S RELATIVE (PROBABLY HIS FATHER)
Heavy sheet of paper folded to enclose 5 sheets of onionskin and one sheet of linen paper; all held together at left margin by green ribbon passing through 3 holes; cover marked "Dominion of Canada...Alfred Holmes...Plaiting Machines...for the period of 18 years...Fourth day of September...(1906)"; signed by Deputy Commissioner of Patents; large orange seal at lower left corner; number 100738 stamped at upper right; sheets inside give precise description of device and its operation; drawing of device from various angles; extra sheet of paper glued to top of cover is form from Marion and Marion, Consulting Engineers, regarding extension of patent and costs to obtain such.
